Healthy Families is one of four health plans Alameda Alliance for Health offers residents of Alameda County.

Alameda Alliance for Health provides low cost health, dental and vision coverage to children and teens up to age 19 who do not have insurance and do not qualify for free Medi-Cal.

Healthy Families is a State-sponsored health insurance program administered to you through Alameda Alliance for Health.

What Does Healthy Families Cost?

We are the Community Provider Plan (CPP) for Alameda County, which means you will pay less if you choose us than if you choose another Healthy Families Plan in Alameda County.

  • Most office visits: $0-10 copay
  • Preventive health services, diagnostics, maternity, family planning: NO copay
  • Most medical equipment: NO copay
  • Inpatient care per admission: NO copay
  • Outpatient mental health (20 visits): $0-10 copay
  • Prescription drugs (generic and brand name): $0-15 copay
  • Monthly premiums:
    • You’ll pay between $4-21 per child, up to a maximum of $63 per month for all eligible children in a family.
    • Monthly premiums depend on family income, family size, and health plan you choose.

Is My Child Eligible?

To qualify for Healthy Families, your child must be:

  • Under 19 years of age
  • California Resident
  • Not eligible for or enrolled in no-cost Medi-Cal, but below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level ($55,880 for a family of four)
  • U.S. citizen, national or eligible qualified immigrant
  • Not covered through someone else’s job in the last three months
