Donna Abrams Joins Alameda Alliance for Health As Quality Oversight Manager

ALAMEDA, Calif., Jan. 23, 2008 — Alameda Alliance for Health (Alliance), a not-for-profit health plan that provides health care coverage to nearly 90,000 low-income Alameda County residents, today announced that Donna Abrams has joined the organization as its quality oversight manager. In her new role, Abrams’ focus is to ensure the Alliance maintains and continually improves its process to address all quality, service or other issues brought forward by Alliance members or by physicians and other health care providers that offer services to Alliance members. Additionally, she works with others at the Alliance to proactively identify and address potential issues before they become problems. Her efforts help ensure the Alliance continually delivers the highest degree of service to its members and provider partners. Abrams is based at the Alliance headquarters in Alameda, Calif., and reports to Claudia Mundy, director of quality and utilization management for the Alliance.
Abrams has more than 25 years experience in the health care arena. She began her career as a hospital-based staff and charge nurse, and subsequently held various positions in operations, care and quality management. Prior to joining the Alliance, she was a compliance and privacy practice specialist for TPMG Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, Calif. Abrams earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from California State University, Hayward and her Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley.
