CRAIG ELSDON-DEW NAMED CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER FOR ALAMEDA ALLIANCE FOR HEALTH


Alameda, Calif., August 14, 2007 — Alameda Alliance for Health (Alliance), a not-for-profit health plan that provides health care coverage to nearly 90,000 low-income Alameda County residents, today announced that Craig Elsdon-Dew has joined the organization as chief information officer (CIO). In his new role, Elsdon-Dew provides the leadership necessary to support all of the Alliance’s business information technology needs. He joined the Alliance in July 2007 and is based at the organization’s headquarters in Alameda, California.

“Craig brings a unique combination of skills and experience to the Alliance,” said Ingrid Lamirault, CEO for the Alliance. “As a senior level executive with a broad background in information technology and in health care, Craig understands how to maximize the value that innovative IT solutions can provide to our organization. He is a proven leader and we are very pleased to welcome him to the Alliance.”

In his role as CIO, Elsdon-Dew is responsible for the organization’s IT support activities including planning, project management, operations, and systems development. Additionally, as a member of the senior management team, he provides strategic direction and vision for the entire Alameda Alliance for Health organization. “I was drawn to the Alliance because I am certain this is a place where my contributions can really make a difference in the service that the Alliance provides to the residents of Alameda County,” said Elsdon-Dew. “I have a real passion to make IT work for organizations and for people, and I’m thrilled to support the Alliance and its members as CIO.”

Elsdon-Dew has more than 20 years of hands-on IT experience with technology providers and IT consultancies, as well as a background in health care and other services industries. Prior to joining the Alliance, he was the director of strategic planning, program and project management at Blue Shield of

California. Elsdon-Dew is originally from South Africa, where he lived before spending several years living and working in Europe. He came to the United States in 1997 and has worked in and around Alameda County since that time. Elsdon-Dew is certified by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
