Courteous and Respectful Treatment

Language of Materials
We would like you to receive written materials in a language you can read. Most are written in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Vietnamese. If you cannot read any of these languages, or are not getting materials in your preferred language, please let us know. Call us at (510) 747-4567, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Interpreter Service The Alliance would like you to be able to talk to us and your doctors in your own language, at no cost to you.
- When you call the Alliance, let us know what language you prefer to speak. If we cannot speak your language, we will use an interpreter at no cost to you.
Our doctors and their staff also speak many languages. There are many reasons to choose a doctor. To help you choose, please see the provider directory. It has provider's address, office hours, area of specialty, and language spoken. If you need help choosing a doctor, call us at (510) 747-4567, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Request for Interpreter Services
When you have a doctor's appointment, you should have a Qualified Health Interpreter if you need one. We will provide one at no cost to you. We prefer that you do not use family or friends to interpret for you, as your job is to be a family member or friend. We can have face-to-face and phone interpreter service at no cost to you or your doctor. We prefer a 3 day notice to schedule face-to-face appointments. Your provider can use phone interpreter service at any time. Call us at (510) 747-4567 to get an interpreter.

In order to better serve you, and to know more about our members, it helps us to know your race and the preferred language that you speak and read.
